Oops!  I forgot to label Monday, May 26th as Memorial Day on the May calendar.  This is a holiday.  Delaney will bring snack on Thursday. 

Mid Trimester Report Watch for your child’s mid-trimester report in this Friday’s envelope.

Kids 4 Christ  Plan now to join us on Sunday, May 18th to sing praises to our Lord.

Carnival  The carnival is coming June .  It is really a fun family day.  Be sure to fulfill your two hour commitment before or during the carnival. Don’t forget the sunscreen!

Language Arts  Last week we  worked on Letter Book W.  The children made windmills and puppets.  They made a picture of a wagon out of a W.  Watch Me Grow was a sequencing activity.   Everyone is doing a good job sounding out words.

Math  We have been working on the concept of left and right.  We sang the Hokey, Pokey to practice.  Tangrams were explored.  We sorted and identified tangrams.  They were used to cover shapes.  The children identified cards with the largest value by coloring them.  Everyone practiced writing the numbers 1—20.  Some are having problems writing the numbers backwards.  This is a good thing to practice at home.

Social Studies  Everyone discussed the seasons of the year.  We put events in order and discussed yesterday, today, and tomorrow, as well as first, second, third, and fourth.  A page was done concerning this concept.  Neighborhoods grow and change, even ours!

Sharing Sharing went well last week.  The following students may bring an item to share this Wednesday: Kaitlyn, Kenna, Marissa, Megan, Olivia, Savannah, Taylor, Tyler, Victoria, and William.  The rest of the class will have another turn next week.

Reminder Keep up the nightly reading.  It is time to return the April calendars for a special reward.   This month it is a trip to the treasure chest!
